Rail Cyber Security Summit “Passengers as the point of compromise”

Passengers as the point of compromise

This presentation will share real intelligence on…

  • Security flaws in on-train Wi-Fi and a lack of segregation between passenger, train, and staff systems: a compromise of any one of these can be used to get to more critical staff and train systems.
  • Handheld units used by train managers/guards, which with some reverse engineering can be used to recover private Wi-Fi keys and potentially extract more sensitive data .
  • Station ticket machines and similar technology.

It will include hacking demos to illustrate how customer data can be compromised and used by an attacker.
